Tesla Powerwall Installation

Tesla Powerwall 3 Installation in Ventura County

Tesla Powerwall 3 is an intelligent home battery designed to store energy for use during power outages, at night, or during higher-cost utility periods.

Powered Up provides Tesla Powerwall installation for Ventura County homeowners who want to add battery backup to an existing solar system, install a battery without adding solar panels, or build a new solar-and-storage system.

Tesla Powerwall 3 at a Glance

  • 13.5 kWh of usable battery storage
  • Up to 11.5 kW of continuous power
  • Automatic backup during qualifying grid outages
  • Integrated solar inverter
  • Tesla app monitoring and system controls
  • Whole-home or partial-home backup options
  • Expansion options for additional storage
  • 10-year limited manufacturer warranty

Automatic Backup Power

When the utility grid goes down, the Powerwall system detects the outage and automatically switches your home to stored battery energy.

Depending on your system design, Powerwall may help keep essential household equipment operating, including:

  • Refrigerators and freezers
  • Interior lighting
  • Internet and Wi-Fi equipment
  • Security systems
  • Garage doors
  • Medical equipment
  • Selected electrical outlets
  • Heating or air-conditioning equipment
  • Other approved household circuits

The number of appliances that can operate—and how long they remain powered—depends on the number of Powerwalls, the battery’s available charge, household electricity use, solar production, and the backup configuration.

Whole-Home or Partial-Home Backup

Whole-Home Backup

A whole-home configuration is designed to provide backup power to the home’s main electrical panel. Whether one Powerwall can support the entire home depends on the size of the electrical loads and which appliances are used at the same time.

Partial-Home Backup

A partial-home configuration protects selected essential circuits. This may include refrigeration, lighting, internet, medical equipment, security systems, and other priority loads.

Our team will review your electrical panel and household energy needs to recommend the appropriate backup configuration.

Add Powerwall to Existing Solar

Already have solar panels? Powerwall 3 may be added to many existing solar systems.

Before installation, we review:

  • Existing solar equipment
  • Solar inverter compatibility
  • Main electrical panel
  • Utility account
  • Current solar agreement
  • Available installation space
  • Desired backup circuits
  • Permit and interconnection requirements

A site evaluation is required to confirm compatibility and determine whether electrical upgrades are needed.

Battery-Only Installation

Powerwall 3 may also be installed without adding new solar panels.

A battery-only system may charge from the utility grid and provide stored energy during an outage, subject to utility rules, system settings, and the approved design.

Battery-only installation may be a good option for homeowners who want backup protection but are not ready to install additional solar panels.

Monitor Your Energy Through the Tesla App

The Tesla app allows homeowners to monitor and manage their Powerwall system from a compatible mobile device.

Depending on the system configuration, homeowners may be able to:

  • View battery charge levels
  • Monitor home energy use
  • Track solar production
  • View grid energy use
  • Review backup activity
  • Adjust backup reserve settings
  • Select available operating modes
  • Receive system and outage notifications

Expand Your Storage in the Future

Powerwall 3 is designed to support additional battery capacity.

Homeowners with higher electricity use, larger backup loads, or longer backup-duration goals may benefit from multiple Powerwalls or compatible Powerwall 3 Expansion units.

Each home requires an individual review to determine the appropriate battery quantity and system configuration.

What Your Installation May Include

Your Tesla Powerwall project may include:

  • Home energy consultation
  • Electric-bill review
  • Site evaluation
  • Battery-system design
  • Permit preparation and submission
  • Powerwall equipment
  • Backup Gateway or approved backup equipment
  • Standard electrical installation
  • Inspection coordination
  • System commissioning
  • Tesla app setup
  • Utility paperwork assistance
  • Review of available incentive programs

Additional work such as a main-panel upgrade, trenching, equipment relocation, structural work, or nonstandard electrical corrections may require an additional charge.

Tesla Powerwall Installation Process

1. Electric-Bill and Energy Review

Send us your latest utility bill so we can review your account, energy use, rate plan, and potential program eligibility.

2. Personalized Battery Estimate

We prepare an estimate based on your existing solar system, electrical equipment, backup needs, and preferred payment option.

3. Site Evaluation

A technician reviews the proposed battery location, electrical panel, solar equipment, utility meter, and installation conditions.

4. Engineering and Permitting

The system is designed, and the required permit documents are submitted to the appropriate jurisdiction.

5. Professional Installation

The Powerwall and related electrical equipment are installed according to the approved project design.

6. Inspection and Commissioning

The project is inspected, commissioned, and connected to the Tesla app. Utility approval may also be required before all system functions are activated.

Is One Tesla Powerwall Enough?

One Powerwall may be sufficient for certain homes and essential-backup needs. Homes with central air conditioning, electric heating, well pumps, electric vehicle charging, or other large loads may require additional equipment or more than one battery.

We evaluate your energy use and backup priorities before recommending a system.
